SCR FOSTERS AND VOLUNTEERS ARE VERY APPRECIATED!! THERE ARE A NUMBER OF WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
Please note: Volunteers of all ages are welcome and we'll find the appropriate way for you to help. Children can always help by participating in food and supply drives, voting online and getting their friends involved. If you want to help with the care of the animals or events you must be at least 18 years of age. You must love animals and be dependable! Thanks for wanting to help!
Fosters: We are always in need of foster homes for our dogs! We have old or young, small, medium and large dogs that are in need of foster homes! When you are a foster for a dog, you just provide love and a temporary home for the dog until he/she finds their forever home. If you need a crate or dog food, we can provide that.
Food Drive Volunteers: We need people who will help with our local food drives. We have been trying to do weekly food drives and normally do them at either Publix or Winn Dixie. We would love to have a few dedicated volunteers who would be interested in helping with these.
Transporters: We need people we can call or email to help transport dogs from shelters. Typically from Jacksonville, Daytona, Deland or Orlando to Bunnell. We also need help with getting dogs to and from vet and grooming appointments or to and from adoption events. We rescue most of our animals from shelters that are "high kill" and euthanize a large number of animals. Unfortunately, sometimes we can't save them just because they don't have a "ride." If you can help with this, it literally saves lives! All you need to do is go to the shelter we are rescuing from and get the animal(s) and bring them either to us in Bunnell or a prearranged meeting point. We normally save animals from the following shelters so if one is near you we would sure appreciate the help! Putnam County Animal Services in Palatka, Levy County Animal Services in Bronson, Orange County Animal Services in Orlando, Baker County Animal Services in Macclenny, Broward County Animal Services in Ft Lauderdale, Jacksonville Animal Care & Control in Jacksonville, Clay County Animal Control in Penny Farms, Bradford County Animal Control in Starke and Miami Dade Animal Services in Miami,
Please note: - You would need to provide your own crate(s). Dogs need to be crated for their safety. - All animals MUST be transported inside a safe and secure vehicle. - No animals should ride in the back of a pick up truck unless there is a camper shell on it. If you can help with transporting animals, please email Debi at
